THE CA NOTICEBOARD

July 2006

CA AWARDS

Please remember to make your nominations for CA Diplomas very soon now. I need to have them "cleared" In time for announcement at the AGM.

ENQUIRY OF THE MONTH AWARD

I'm torn this month between the member of the public who wanted to know if it was abslolutely essential that the lawn, which he was constructing, faced North; and the man who wanted to know where he could become a "Far Out" member!

ELECTION TO COUNCIL

The ballot paper will be in the August Gazette and on the CA Website. If you are entitled to more than one vote per household please make an extra copy of the ballot paper or download from the Web.

MOTION TO COUNCIL

There is a ballot paper in the Gazette and on the Web relating to a motion which aims to address the amendment needed to the Rules of the CA in respect of representative teams. Again copy ballot papers if necessary. CA Member Clubs also have a vote. The club ballot paper (green) is enclosed with this Noticeboard.

PRESCOTT/ PUBLICITY

My thanks to the many clubs who responded to requests from the media, The CA was inundated with enquiries. One Department Store asked if I thought a croquet set costing peanuts (and I think containing three of the Primary and one Secondary colour ball) represented good value for money!

MEMBERS SUGGESTION

Several members suggested that next year's membership card should contain only the name and reference number (for security reasons in case of the loss of purse etc) and this is what will happen next year.

It is the height of the season and I hope you have found good form.
