Richard Thompson won the Ramsgate Golf Croquet Championship, beating Ryan Cabble in the final.
Ten players attended this year's tournament, managed by Evelyn Martin, in mixed weather conditions, sunny on Saturday with some strong easterly gusts, and as usual for the final day, being wet and overcast.
The format was all-play-all in a single block with the top four going through to semi finals on Sunday. The semi finals were Richard Thompson v Graham Wallin, and David Dray v Ryan Cabble, for best of three, thirteen points.
Richard came out on top with a 2/1 win, and Ryan with a 2/1 win. That left David v Graham for a single game to decide third and fourth place and David won to come third.
Richard and Ryan started the final and Ryan won the first game, and Richard won the second, for the deciding game, a tight match went to the thirteenth hoop and Richard eventually won, and well deserved too..
The plate was won by Roy Ware.
