Lawn Advisory Group (LAG)

The Lawns Advisory Group (LAG) provides information and advice on the construction, improvement and maintenance of playing surfaces, including levelling, drainage, irrigation, seed mixes, weed and pest problems and annual maintenance programmes.

CA Federations, Clubs and individuals should in the first instance, contact their Federation Development Officer (FDO) who will be involved if the lawns advice sought is part of a proposed development, or who will pass the enquiry to the LAG representative for the federation.

The CA is a subscribing member of the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI) who will provide advice and information by telephone, or arrange for a visit by one of their technical experts. Such visit, however, has to be paid for at the appropriate rate and unless a club or federation can pay the full amount, the Federation Development Officer must be contacted first, before any approach is made to the STRI. This is essential if the club intends to seek a grant or loan from the CA. Further advice can be obtained from the LAG Chairman.
