Roehampton beat Maldon CC on 6th June 2026 4- 2 in the Inter Club Bowl (Level 3) held at The Roehampton Club on 6 June 2026.

Roehampton were delighted to welcome Chris Joslin, Graham Parker, Adrian Egelton and John Hustwick of Maldon CC to play the first match in Roehampton's defence of last year's Inter Club Tier 3 Bowl win. The Roehampton team comprised Carmel Brancen, Charlotte Oades, Emile Fernandes, captained by Howard Railton. The weather was forecast to be wet and not that warm but by cunningly taking advantage of periods of dry if still windy weather which included the odd surprise appearance of the sun, everyone kept going through the day in reasonable spirits. The morning ended with Roehampton slightly ahead and everyone enjoyed a pleasant lunch in the newly extended Roehampton Club House. The two captains were delighted to have managed to complete their games in the relatively dry arts of the day and, equipped with tea and biscuits standing in the pavilion, watched their teams bravely fight it out in the increasingly rainy and blustery conditions. A tense deciding game between Charlotte Oades and Adrian Egelton saw Adrian play an excellent jump shot only to watch Charlotte score the winning hoop. This decided the match in favour of Roehampton 4-2 and saved Emile and John from having to play a deciding third game in the rain.

The match was played in an excellent atmosphere of friendly competitiveness and it was a pleasure to host Maldon for the day.
