Impact of Coronavirus on Tournaments

Below are details to update the CA family on what will be a fast-moving situation over the next few months. This page was last changed on 16th March 2020.

As a general rule, when entering Tournaments or Events, we recommend that members book only accommodation that can be cancelled without penalty and refundable public transport tickets until the high risk of an event cancellation is over.

Should you wish to withdraw from a tournament that accepts entries online, you can do so through the Tournament Entry System (TES) - there's a help page linked from there (if needed).

Having withdrawn from an event, refund of entry fees will follow but may take some time due to staff availability. Alternatively, a Tournament Entry Fee Donation Scheme has been implemented to enable players to donate their entry fee to support the host club if they wish to.

Decisions about cancelling tournaments would generally be made no later than two weeks before they start. Players should decide before the closing date whether they intend to play or withdraw so that realistic assessments of the likely number of entries can be made and Tournament Managers can plan an order-of-play.
