(Rest of) Europe beats England at golf in a surprising reversal of fortunes

4th September 2001 (GC)

In the England vs Rest of Europe Golf Croquet Challenge, the RoE overcame a 19:13 deficit at the end of the singles on day one to win 33:31 after the doubles. There were many exciting games with some outstanding jump shots and long hoops from both sides. John Solomon presented the cup and miniatures to the winning team. The cup was kindly donated by Chris Sheen on behalf of Musk Sausages. The event was judged by all to have been a great success and it is hoped to make it an annual event with the RoE holding the event in 2002.
