Richard M Smith won the Cheltenham Easter WE and qualified for a CA Silver Medal

Richard M Smith defeated Dave Kibble in the final of the Cheltenham Easter Weekend and qualified for a CA Silver Medal in the process.

The plate event, run as an Egyptian, was won by Jonathan Powe who defeated Paul Rigge in the final match

36 players were placed into a knockout with 8 seeds. Chris Williams was the only seed not to reach the quarter finals losing -2 to Andrew Wise on a very cold wet afternoon.

The season opener was played in cold temperatures with a maximum of about 6 degrees being reached on day 2.
