Welcome to another croquet year, which, in 2018, promises to have as much variety as previous years. As with 2017 any playing member of a full CA-member club will be able to play in tournaments, without becoming a Premium Member of the CA (formerly Tournament Member), though they will have to have consented to become a Standard member of the CA. For those who only want to enter a couple of one-day or weekend tournaments a year this is an opportunity which we hope many will take up as they did in 2017.
For regular tournament players it will cheaper to be a Premium Member of the CA because standard entry fees for tournaments will be £5 per day cheaper for Premium Members. Premium members also have priority over other entrants when places are allocated.
This year will see the introduction of one-day C-Level GC Tournaments with a final to be held in Nottingham in September.
Last year saw the creation of the Northern Coaching Academy based at York. This, coupled with the two existing croquet academies, has greatly increased the coaching available to players and last year's success has ensured a continuing programme this year.
