GC A-Level (0+) Series

The GC A-Level (0+) Series is one of 5 tiers of Golf Croquet Series in the CA calendar, each a season-long competition that groups together certain tournaments of a similar class. Players can achieve direct qualification to a National Final by way of performance in a qualifying tournament. Most of these Series lead to a National Final, while the Open Series is a straight 'points race' with no National Final.

The hierarchy of Series tournaments is:

The Championship Series................... - 8 Championship tournaments, leading to the English National Singles Championship Final (for the 'Ascot Cup').
The Open (Unrestricted) Series........... - 14 Open tournaments (unrestricted), it is a straight 'points race'. There is no National Final.
The A-Level (0+) Series................. - 15 tournaments restricted to handicaps 0+, leading to a National Final.
The B-Level (3+) Series..................... - 25 tournaments restricted to handicaps 3+, leading to a National Final.
The C-Level (7+) Series..................... - 24 tournaments restricted to handicaps 7+, leading to a National Final.

The winner of each of the above tournaments will qualify for the National Final tournament which will be limited to 16 players.
Final places not claimed as above will be allocated automatically by points earned in the qualifying events from finishing second (6 points), third (4 points) or fourth (2 points). If a third/fourth place play-off is declined by one player but not the other, the player willing to play will be placed third and the unwilling player fourth (with Series points awarded as above). If neither player is willing to play a third/fourth place pay-off, BOTH players will score only 2 points.
