Mulliner (GB) v Bryant (NZ)

Please use this link to get to the end of the commentary.

Morning all and welcome to Nottingham on a grey and overcast morning for what could be a pivotal 3rd day of this test.  NZ really need to win the singles at least 4-2 to get a realistic shot at winning this test.  3-3 has to be an absolute minimum to stay in touch.  I will be with you for the next 3 days all the way to the end of this test.

The lawns were running at 11.5 seconds this morning.

Chris will be commentating lawns 1+2 this morning and I have lawns  4+5.

Players are out and practicing

Greg plays U to E boundary level with 4

R 6' south of corner II

K shoots at U from corner 3 missing to corner 4

Stephen shoots from end of A baulk at U missing on the right, comes back on 1 inch N of U

U rushes Y to 9 yds S of 3 wiring it from R and is joining K on S boundary about 2 yards apart.

Stephen has a lot of thought but is now shooting with Y at K 25 yarder, CENTRE BALL.

      Bryant
      Mulliner

Graphics not working sorry.

Stephen having made 1, has a drive approach to 2 from the corner with K behind the hoop.  Approach is short and has joined with R between 3 and the corner

Stephen RY

Greg KU

Greg has K between 2 and the corner, U 4 yds behind 4 and Stephen laid up in corner 3. Shoots K at U misses by nothing, feels hard done by.

Stephen rushed R to W of peg split it towards 3 going to K and U and rushes K to 2 yds straight in front of 2 and now should be going round

Crowds up to 35-40 already and the rain has started.

Stephen has made 6 and he already has a pioneer at 1back, no sextuple this morning!

Stephen is on 4 back with a spread R&Y 12 yds N of corner 4, K by the peg and U 2 yds off the W boundary.

Greg lifts U and is looking at the short lift from A baulk

missing to 2 yds N of R

R 1

Y 4back

K 1

U 1

Stephen digs U in a couple of yards before taking the rush into the lawn.  Looks under control but rush to 1 goes 3 yds past. Approach is good and he's through 1 and a TP awaits him

First peel after 3, goes back to peelee after 4, all looking good

Penult peel jawsed after 6, rush peeled after 1back.

Stephen rushes to 3back and calls for a referee, is it in the jaws at the back of the hoop, it's close but looks alright.  No rover peel yet

Doesn't go for peel after 3back, it will be straight but looks like a foot infront though.

Sunshine is out in strength

Peel no trouble at all, pegs out from a yard.

Stephen +26tp

Hoops are being inspected by Martin
