Reg Bamford |
Bamford failed 2-back in the middle of a sextuple in game 1 and Trimmer won in two turns. In Game 2, Trimmer had the first break with a poor DSL which Bamford hit, and won in two turns with a reasonably tidy sextuple.
Reg completed a sextuple in the final game. Pete missed the tea lady by about six inches. Approaching the final rover peel, Reg jawsed the peelee, and attempted to half-jump it (I presume), but actually ended up jumping clean over the peelee, but not getting south of the deep escape ball. However, he was able to go to the other escape ball (near rover), and with the croquet stroke, promote peelee about a yard through rover AND pass roll to a rushing position two yards south of rover, thus finishing with a two foot pegout.
