Guy Towlson has won the Oxford Advanced weekend, yet again, despite all attempts by the tournament management to prevent it! With tidy victories over Mark Wormald and Jack Wicks, Guy's handicap fell by a full 50 index points over the tournament to 2. Most of the competitors struggled to play to their abilities as the lawn speeds varied quickly throughout the tournament. Although several players came close, Austin Sherlaw-Johnson managed the only triple of the tournament against an opponent who asked not to be mentioned (in an attempt to forget his game results in this tournament). Special mention should go to Richard Gibson for his continually cheerful and optimistic attitude throughout the tournament.
