The Championship of Surrey was won by Rutger Beijderwellen, who beat Samir Patel +14 +26tp in the final. Rutger had previously beaten top seed Stephen Mulliner (+18 +9tp), while Jamie Burch had dispatched the second seed (and last year's winner) Jeff Dawson (+3 +11). Jeff went on to win the plate, beating third seed Jenny Williams in the plate final.

With fast lawns (timed at 12 seconds just before the final) and solid 1/16" hoops in dry ground, many players found that their normal break play had to be tightened up in order to keep a break under control, and also resulted in some extremely long battles (e.g. Dickson bt Harris -20 +1(t) +14(t)). However, tidy break play and accurate rushing was rewarded, and a few players recorded TPs (George Noble (TPO), Jack Wicks (2), Jeff Dawson (2), Jenny Williams, Jerry Guest, Rutger Beijderwellen (3), Samir Patel (2), Stephen Mulliner (3+TPO+OTP)).
