Chris Farthing won the Surbiton Golf Croquet Tournament

The 4th Golf Croquet Tournament was held at Surbiton on the 8/9th April, with 26 keen croquet players. Surbiton put on its usual good weather and fantastic food.

The event was played in 4 blocks, playing best of two matches with the top two qualifying for best of 3 knockouts. The remainder played in a Swiss using 19 point games.

The winners of the blocks were Chris Farthing, John Spiers, Nick Butler and Shane Davis all winning 8/10 games. The other qualifiers were Pierre Beaudry, Nelson Morrow, Simon Carter and Tom Weston.

The final was a test of fine shooting and some magnificent hoop running between Chris and Shane, with the association croquet skills of these players shinning through. The eventual winner was Chris 7-6 7-5.

3. John Spiers (Blewbury)
4. Nelson Morrow (Hurlingham) (Also winner of the Grand National Sweepstake!)
5. Simon Carter (Sydenham)
6. Pierre Beaudry (Dulwich)
7. Nick Butler (Blewbury)
8. Tom Weston (East Dorset)

The winner of the Swiss was last year's holder, Chris Sheen.
