Auckland win the Townsend Award

Ashby, Auckland, Enfield, Rother Valley, Woking and Woodhall Spa clubs applied for the year 2000 Townsend award, Auckland emerging as the Development Committee's choice from strong and encouraging competition. Auckland will retain the Trophy for two years and receive an inscribed plaque to keep, plus a cash award of 100pds.

made the greatest advancement in its development in the years 1999 and 2000. Both Rother Valley and Auckland had established two new lawns in the past two years with the membership of Auckland increasing to Forty. By a narrow margin the Committee voted for Auckland.
