Ian Lines scoring the final hoop

The 2007 Lancashire International Open Golf Croquet Tournament was held at Heaton Park, Manchester on April 14-15 in summery weather, the lawns recovered from hibernation and most of the players likewise.

The blocks were set up to keep Ian Lines and Tim King apart, and this proved a sound step as they eventually met in the best-of-five final. Ian looked to be romping home 2-0 in games when at at 6-5 down, he ran 12 with his next turn's ball and Tim took full advantage to win 7-5. However Ian smoothly took the fourth game for victory. Michael O'Brian beat Fredy Viity for third place. the consolation doubles event went to David Walters and Ros Pimlott.
