Cliff Jones won the Sidmouth GC Tournament

Following three late withdrawals, there were only nine entrants to the event, playing in a single block, all play all twice, with the top two playing a best-of-three final. The positions after completion of the block were:

2. Cliff Jones 12 wins
3. Ian Friedlander 10 wins
4. Bill Arliss 10 wins
5. Richard Mills 8 wins
6. Richard Harris 8 wins
7. David Temple 4 wins
8. John Coombes 2 wins
9. Anthony Lee 2 wins

In the final Cliff Jones beat Ken Wallman 7-5 5-7 7-5.

The lawns were in excellent condition. The weather was cold, mostly fine but with occasional showers.
