12 entrants with handicaps ranging from 0 to 7 entered the event which was managed by Peter and Liz Wilson. The first day was played as three blocks of four, all-play-all. On the morning of the 2nd day the block winners, Lee Hartley, Mark Miller and Peter Wilson, were joined by tie-break winner Paul Rigge in the semi-finals. The other eight players played the first of two consolation swiss games.
The semi-finals were won by Lee Hartley and Peter Wilson who played for the trophy in the afternoon with Lee coming out the eventual winner, winning all 5 games and triggering a handicap change to 2. Peter Wilson was runner-up with 4/5. Other players on 4/5 were Mark Miller and Charles Waterfield.
The weather was disappointingly cold and damp on the Saturday and stayed cold on the Sunday despite a little sunshine.
