Mark Lloyd won the Bowdon B Class Tournament beating fellow Chester and Bowdon member, Richard Smith -9T, +3T, +18 in perfect weather.

The tournament manager, Lorna Frost had, jokingly, asked if they could make it run to three games to give people something to watch while they were having tea. This Mark and Richard did, obligingly using the full allotted cumulative time to the minute. Time was called after Mark ran rover and had made the rush towards the peg for the final peg-out.

The Egyptian event was won by Robert Wilkinson, a very promising young player who as recently as August was playing off a handicap of three but was down to one for the tournament.
