Final: Andrew Hope v Mark Ormerod

Andrew reached 4-back and 4-back before Mark started. Mark then came back strongly, and got the first peel of a STP. He then unwisely continued to attempt to finish, leading to clips of penult and penult. Andrew hit a 9-yarder, and took one of his balls to the peg. A poor leave left Mark a 10-yarder, which he hit. He then got to penult and peg, though without an opportunity to peg Andrew out. Andrew missed a 27-yarder, and Mark held himself together to finish.

Both finalists admitted they had not visited to Colchester since the 1970s. It's an excellent club: good lawns, good facilities, good people. Why not visit more often?

Players with 4/6 or better over the first 2 days qualified for Sunday's knock-out.
