Surbiton had a record 33 entries today for its second 'Winter One-Ball', which began with the temperature hovering around scratch, but later rising to B-level.

The Swiss format resulted in five players finishing on 5/6. The tie-break was resolved by the 'Solomon Berger' quality-of-opponents formula in favour of David Mooney, ahead of Mark Fawcett, Ted Matthews, Lionel Tibble and Brian Rees.

Then we lunched grandly, with a choice of Fullers beers.
