The Federazione Italiana Sport Croquet is starting is starting to receive enquiries and applications for the Italian Golf Croquet Open Championships 2002. For those interested, details are as follows:

Date: 13-14 July 2002
Venue: "La Cascina del Lupo", Busto Arsizio (VA)

Events:
The Championships
Open Singles, Blocks with play-off.
Holder Chris Sheen (England)
Prizes - Winner E600, runner-up E250
NOTE: Blocks will be single game 19 point; Play-offs will be best of three, 13 point.

The Consolation Event
Handicap Doubles.
Prize - F.I.S.Cr. Plate

All play to WCF rules for golf croquet current at the start of the tournament.

Number of Players: 16
Number of flights: 1

Entry Fees:
Championships - E100, including lunches and gala dinner
Consolation Event - Free to entrants in the Championships
Players' Companions - E60, including lunches and gala dinner

Entry fees may be paid at the Club during the event.
Cheques made payable to "Federazione Italiana Sport Croquet".
No credit cards accepted.

Entries:
Close 16 June 2002. Should any event be over subscribed on the 16th June, allocation of places for Italian players will be based on the current golf croquet rankings; some places will be reserved for foreign players. Entries may be accepted after 16th June if places are available.

Accommodation:
Hotel booking will be made by Federazione Italiana Sport Croquet in available 3 stars hotel nearby the Club. Expected rates are as follows:

Single En-Suite Room: E90

Double En-Suite Room: E110

including breakfast.

General Information:
The venue is about 30 km from Milan and close to Malpensa International Airport. Lake Maggiore and Lake Como are about 30 km away from the Club, and they are worth a visit...
