Essex won the Inter-Counties Championship

Essex won the Championship and Hertfordshire won Division 2. Michael Heap (Essex captain) accepted the trophy from John Solomon.

Dorset, Sussex and Lancashire were relegated from Division 1 to Division 2.
Hertfordshire, Sufffolk, Glamorgan were promoted from Division 2 to Division 1.
