Surbiton's First Golf Croquet Championship

The first Golf Croquet Championship to be held at Surbiton Croquet Club attracted 22 players from as far north as Bowdon and Tyneside and as far south as Ramsgate and Southwick.

The early season staging of this event produced some surprising results with none of the top seeds (John Moore, Chris Sheen or Derek Old) making the semi finals.

The eventual semi finalists were Don Beck , Alan Pidcock , Nelson Morrow and Samir Patel with Nelson beating Don in the final.
