The Southport (UK) April Advanced weekend was won by David Maugham, who beat Keith Aiton (+9, -17 QP, +12) in a more than usually interesting final.

Keith won the second game of the final with a very tidy quad, and then TPOed David (in 2 turns) in the third game, with David on hoop 3 with his backward ball. David narrowly failed to run the hoop from the contact leave after the big roll from west boundary, but later hit in at 30 yards and finished with a neat 3 ball break.

The other main game of note was in the Swiss, where David Maugham TPOed David Nicholson, and then pegged out both balls, leaving a one ball game with both clips on hoop 1. David Nicholson then played excellently and won

1. 5 OTP.

The Swiss Consolation Event was won by Ian Lines with 4 out of 5 wins.
