Cheltenham High Bisque Tournament

[<<] [>>] by Adam Moliver at Cheltenham
4th August 2022 (AC)

A small field played in blocks on day one - 18 point games, full bisque off a base of 6.

Winners and runners up played on day 2 in 22 point games in Semi final and final and third/fourth play off.

After a morning game on the second afternoon those not in the Final orThird/Fourth play off had a coaching session from Adam Moliver . They requested particular help with "The Start" and roll shots.

We then watched and learnt from the mistakes being made in the Final!

Sarah Butler of Nottingham won, winning all five games and gaining the Bronze merit award along the way -a serious handicap reduction awaits….

She beat Richard Coward in the final. He joined High Wycombe this year having only played garden croquet. Watch out for him, especially if he gets a better mallet and a couple of lessons.

Phil Stapleton beat Liz Eyre (both Cheltenham) for third place.

An event like this is a great way to get in Tournament play, look out for it next year.
