The Oxford Croquet Site is pleased to have been selected by John Riches to present his series of eight croquet booklets covering; Tactics, Techniques, Sports Psychology and Refereeing. The booklets are presented as web pages and PDF files. They will be added at approximately monthly intervals and flagged on
the site's What's New page.

The first booklet "Lessons in Tactics" is set at intermediate level and covers the following topics:

Thinking Ahead,
Making a Double
Conceding a Hoop
Returning to Partner Ball
Covering the Boundary
Two Rushes are Better Than One
Hitting In
Running Away
The Right Ball
Playing the Border Ball
Percentage Play
Covering the Double
The Three-One Principle
Loading the Next Hoop
The Trap Line,
Balls in Hoops,
The Fourth Ball,
Wiring
Rush-Line Theory
Ideal Leaves
Non-Standard Leaves
For the Coach

We are indebted to John Ballantyne who did the major task of converting the booklets into electronic format. His "PDF" files were the basis for the alternative web page versions and have higher quality images than the latter.

At least three of these are available ring-bound from the CA On-line Shop, all under £10
