MacRobertson Shield Day 15 - The longeriest day

We held a slim 6-5 lead overnight (with one match unfinished) as we started day 4, and the final round of doubles.

James and Samir got off to a flying start against the NZ pair of Felix and Jenny, only for it to come to a crashing end at 4-back part way through a TPO, which gave Jenny a single peel finish. We levelled in a tight second game, before an aggressive break to 4-back from Samir and a TP from James sealed the win. 7-5.

Robert and Jack got embroiled in a long first game which went the way of the Kiwi pair of Aaron and Logan after Jack was pegged out. The second game followed a similar pattern, this time with Aaron pegged out, but he hit a final do-or-die shot to win. 7-6

Mark and Jamie had a very interactive match against Paddy and Edmund characterised by a lot of hitting from the latter which allowed them to regain the innings on a regular basis. Despite this we won the first narrowly, but the New Zealand pair equalised in the second. The third game looked set to close with an NZ lead, but Jamie played a great turn in fading light to level proceedings. The match is pegged down in game 3 with us for 4-back and peg against penult alone.

That leaves the test 7-6 overnight, with two matches pegged down (one singles and one doubles). Tomorrow sees the final round of singles, followed (subject to curfew for the pre-event finale celebration) by the pegged down games.
