8th May 2002 (AC)

This tournament which was originally handicap only but has for the last two years included an advanced event. The change appears to be well accepted with 22 entries for the advanced and only 12 for the handicap.

The advanced event was played as a straight knockout with single games for the first round but best of three for the last sixteen. For the losers there was plenty of play with a flexible Swiss consolation event.

Matt Burrow finished without a single lost game in the knockout, the final being against Kevin Carter.

Local player, Jack Davies won the consolation event with a 66.7% win percentage just beating Sarah Burrow who had 63.6%.

The handicap event was won by Southwick player Alan Cottle who was playing his first tournament.
