First Egyptian Open Championship announced

The Egyptian Croquet Federation and the World Croquet Federation are pleased to announce a new event in the croquet world calendar: The First Egyptian Open Championship, sanctioned by the WCF, and taking place from 1st to 6th October 2005 inclusive.

The venue will once again be the prestigious Gezirah Club, Cairo.

It is expected that top players from around the world will enter this event. The event will be played as a best of three block play followed by a knock out event. The final and maybe semi-finals will be best of five. The event will be played with Egyptian Balls. Some play will be under floodlights. Tours and sightseeing trips can be organised. There is no entry fee.
