Cornwall Croquet played Kington Langley at home (Porthpean) in the first round of the Longman Cup on Saturday June 11. Cornwall Croquet won 7:0. The individual results are shown below.

Les Hull (18) lost to Tony Backhouse (8) 26:18
Jane Hull (10 lost to Nigel Grant (16) 15:13
Eric Bevan (10) & Irene Bevan (20) lost to Malcolm Hooper (8) & Tony Jennings (16) 21:12

Eric Bevan lost to Malcolm Hooper 26:9
Les Hull lost to Nigel Grant 26:13
Irene Bevan lost to Tony Jennings 26:4

The weather was fine, warm and mainly sunny with a light easterly breeze. Lunch was taken in the golf club, and tea, prepared by Margaret and Stephen Reid, was enjoyed in the new croquet clubhouse. Both teams thoroughly enjoyed some entertaining croquet.
