Belgian Indoor Open 2006

10th December 2005
(International)
Once again, the Croquet Federation of Belgium is hosting an Indoor Open on 7 & 8 January 2006 (the weekend of 12th Night). You are invited to enter this amazing event, by response to Bob Appels at: appels.robert#tiscali.be.
Once again, we have opted for a format where most people can play almost all the time. 12 entries max will play on 2x 3/4 courts, level advanced games for 20 points, with a consolation one-ball event.
The entry fee is 140 euro, to include lunches, lawn-side drinks and 12th Night dinner*. Accommodation is available by booking through us at the hotel Chateau du Lac (Genval : for 100 euro/night/double room www.chateaudulac-belgium.com/html/en/index.asp ). Accompanying persons are also of course welcome to attend the dinner (& festivities) for an additional fee intended simply to cover our costs.
Last year's participants will welcome another opportunity to bring along at least 2 "mathoms" (c.f. J R R Tolkien), i.e. well wrapped-up objects of purely nominal value, which will be distributed (the 3 Kings brought gifts, right?) amongst the assembled company at dinner by the throw of the dice.
The carpets of the Salle Argentine, Chateau du Lac, are virtually ours ... the hotel reserves the right to let us know no less than 3 weeks before the event if they have found somebody willing to pay the full-price to hire that weekend (instead of us cheap b*s). We've already booked our insurance for damage to the windows however and we look forward to seeing you there.
