MacRobertson Shield 2006 - Change of Venue

The MacRobertson Shield in November 2006 was to be conducted at the new Victoria Croquet Association's headquarters in Melbourne. The facilities have experienced delays in construction and critically delays in planting grass. These facilities will not be ready by November.

It is proposed to conduct the event at either Noosa (north of Brisbane) or at the Rich River Golf Club (venue for the 1993 event).

Noosa Croquet Club has 5 courts and there are two four court croquet clubs within a 45 minute drive. Rich River would provide 6 courts and we would combine this with Shepparton Croquet Club, a 4 court venue, approximately a 50 minute drive south east of the Rich River facilities.

A final decision is expected by the end of this month.
