[<<] [>>] by Chris Williams
15th June 2006 (International)

The 27th Home Internationals between England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales takes place this coming weekend at Heaton Park. England will be looking for their fifth consecutive victory and their 23rd overall, whilst Ireland will be looking for their third win in the last 8 years.

The selected teams with their predicted playing orders are below. Each player plays a best of three against each of their equivalent players in the other teams.

Ian Burridge, in his second match, will become only the third player to reach 50 matches in the Home Internationals, after Simon Williams(56) and William Prichard(55), both of whom are playing this year. Ian will also become the third Welshman to achieve 50 appearances for his country - each Home Internationals counting as three. William Prichard(62) and Chris Williams(50) currently lead the way. This will also be Ian's 17th consecutive Home Internationals - surpassed only by Simon Williams for whom this will be his 20th - he has not missed one since he first played.
