The Golf Croquet Singles and Doubles National Championships

These events are open to Tournament Members of the Croquet Association.

National Singles Championship

Entry to the singles is either by qualification through one of the major Golf Croquet Tournaments in the CA Calendar (see P48 of the Fixtures Book) or via two qualifying heats. A total of sixteen players will be awarded a place in the final which this year will be held at Colchester 23/24 Sept. The following players have already qualified for the final:

2005 Holder Reg Bamford
2005 Runner-up Robert Fulford
2005 Semi-Finalists Samantha Curry and Ivor Brand
2005 Selectors' Weekend Chris Daniels
2005 Yorkshire Open Ray Mounfield
2006 Lancashire Open Either Nelson Murrow or Ian Lines (To be decided by toss if neither qualify at another event)
2006 Surbiton Chris Farthing
2006 East Anglian Pierre Beaudry
2006 Ramsgate David Openshaw
2006 Open Championship Stephen Mulliner and Charlie von Schmieder
2006 Sussex yet to be played

The full compliment of players will include all above who wish to take their place with the remainder coming from the two heats, the number from each heat being determined by the Director on the basis of number entering the heats. The heats are at Compton on 22-23 July and at Southport on 29-30 July.

Closing date for making entries: July 15.

National Doubles Championship

Entry to the National Doubles Championship is direct, with a maximum of sixteen pairs. The event will be held at Surbiton on 12/13 August, closing date: August 1st.
