The 2007 Championship was the eleventh played since the two division system was introduced in 1997. Four Counties have played in the top division in all eleven years - Surrey, Avon, Gloucestershire and Cheshire, whilst Warwickshire and Kent have played in the second for all eleven years.

The most successful county over the eleven years, based on average finishing position is Surrey, with an average of 2.9, followed by Avon (4.4), Cheshire (4.6) and Essex (5.1)

The most games won in a season in the first division is 24 (out of 30) by Avon in 1998, Essex in 2000 and Cheshire in 2004. The most game wins in division 2 is the 26 achieved by Dorset in 2005.
