Day 1

Wales led Switzerland 5-4 after the first day of their two-day match at Dyffryn Gardens. The Welsh team (some of them) were resplendent in their new bright red Welsh shirts and were revitalised after an excellent lunch prepared by Liz Williams.

Games were tied 3-3 on the second day, which gave Wales victory by 8 games to 7 and so they retained the Coupe des Vallees.
