Surbiton beat Lansdown by 7-0 to go through to the next round of of the Golf Croquet Inter-Club Championship.
All credit should go to the Lansdown players who played throughout with an excellent attitude, regarding the day as a learning experience. Their combined handicap of 20 against the 6 of Surbiton meant they were the underdogs from the off.
Ian Parkinson did his generous best to gift a few games to the visitors extending the match into the late afternoon. (Don Beck and Stephen Mulliner had finished their play in time to relax and enjoy an excellent lunch provided by George).
