The Italian Golf Croquet Open was a very international affair with twelve competitors from six different countries. Played on three lawns in Busto Arsizio about 30 kms north of Milan.

It was an all Italian final after the surprise defeats of two of the top Egyptian players. Paolo De Petra was the winner after a close match against Andrea Pravettoni. David Hopkins pulled off a great victory against Walid Waban in the Quarter Finals, but did not quite recapture this form against Paolo De Petra in the semi final.
