Tim King GC Coaching Session at Letchworth

[<<] [>>] by Duncan Hector at Letchworth CC
5 May 2008 (GC)

Tim King visited Letchworth on 5 May to provide GC coaching for its Inter-Club teams. There were sixteen students and a group of enthusiastic onlookers too.

Tim's coaching started with the mind game and how it affects performance. He put us into the mind of a top-flight player and explained his approach to competitive play. The course was rich in content and covered tactics in some depth. He used club players as guinea pigs to demonstrate different tactical positions and then gave personal coaching to each group of four. Finally, he demonstrated the technique he uses for jumping over balls that are blocking hoops. His most impressive was "the bouncing bomb" played 7 yards from the hoop and bouncing once before the hoop, over the blocking ball and through the hoop.

Surprisingly, he only needed only one attempt for this impressive feat which can be seen at www.croquetonfilm.com/
