17 Brits in the World Championship Knockout

13th May 2009 (World Championship)

17 Brits made it through to the World Championship knockout stage from the eighty players who began block play earlier this week at the National Croquet Center, West Palm Beach, Florida. The winner will be presented with the Wimbledon Cup, which was presented to the World Croquet Federation by the All England Lawn Tennis Club in recognition of the part croquet played in the club's long history.

With two UK residents in the mix too, well over half of the final 32, including all eight seeds, are regular players on the English croquet circuit - this is undoubtedly why GB dominates the world of croquet.
