The Final

Game 1

Ian won toss and chose to go first.

• Ian to EB.
• Reg 9.5 yard duffer.
• Ian hits duffer and has dream leave.
• Reg misses into C4.
• Ian to 4 back with DS.
• Reg hits long lift. 1 back leave.
• Ian misses tea-lady.
• Reg completes sxp to win +17sxp.

Game 2

Reg chose to go first.

• Reg supershot 2 yard short of peg.
• Ian lags nearby (no double).
• Reg shoots gently from C1 and just hits. 3 back with DS.
• Ian hits short lift. 4 back with DS. Did think about qpo but decided against - should have done 2 pops!
• Reg hits short lift and finishes to win +17qp.

Game 3

Ian chose to go first.

• Ian supershot 1 yard short of peg.
• Reg EB peg high.
• Ian misses Reg from C3 to 8 yards south.
• Reg misses double to 2 yards south of Ian.
• Ian fails to get going (concerned about long take off along hill on EB) but has good leave in C1.
• Reg misses 26 yard shot from H2 to partner on EB near H4.
• Ian to 4 back with DS.
• Reg misses long lift.
• Ian finishes with delayed tp to win +26tp.

Game 4

Reg chose to go first.

• Reg supershot 2 yards short of peg.
• Ian lags nearby (no double).
• Reg shoots gently from C1 and misses.
• Ian hits double from near C1 and goes to 4 back with DS, but leaving moderate double for WB ball.
• Reg hits 25 yard double. Fails to get rush to 1 so joins up in C1 with dolly rush.
• Ian misses (with hoop 1 ball) from H2 to partner ball near H4.
• Reg grovels through H1 by an inch and can't hit partner, so hits 17 yarder at Ian's balls near H4 (leaving easy standard tp for Ian if he misses!). Has 1 back leave.
• Ian misses tea lady.
• Reg completes sxp to win +17sxp (including playing through hail shower!).

So no real errors by either player, each just failing to get going on one occasion (when they had good leaves instead). Reg's shooting with his new Mike O'Brian mallet was pretty good, and his peeling turns were rarely in doubt.
