Letchworth beat Auckland at Ashby Croquet Club 4-2

Letchworth beat Auckland 4-2 in a closely-contested match, played on neutral ground at Ashby.

The morning ended 1-1 with the decision taken to play the deciding game in the doubles if needed after the 4 afternoon singles matches. Letchworth quickly established a 3-1 lead after lunch thanks to wins by Duncan Hector and John Skingsley, with the other two matches going the distance. Eugene beat David, but the contest was ultimately decided by Nick beating Freda on the 13th hoop.
