Broadwas beat Kenilworth 5-2

On a cloudy and blustery day Broadwas hosted Kenilworth in the second
round match and Broadwas ran out winners 5-2.

Kenilworth players had to come to terms with the notorious Broadwas
sloping lawns but lunched 2-1 down after losing the doubles and sharing
the two singles. In the afternoon Broadwas took three singles and it was
left to Cliff Daniels to round off a very good personal day by winning his
second match of singles for Kenilworth.

The individual scores were (Broadwas first):

David Parsons and Stuart Smith beat Adrian Morris and John Leader 7-3,
7-2

John Guy lost to Cliff Daniels 2-7, 7-5, 2-7
John Edwards beat Peter Dennis 7-3, 7-6
David Parsons beat Adrian Morris 7-4, 6-7, 7-5
Stuart Smith beat John Leader 7-6, 7-6
John Guy beat Peter Dennis 7-4, 7-4
John Edwards lost to Cliff Daniels 7-4, 4-7, 4-7

An excellent tea was enjoyed by all and we look forward to the next
meeting at Kenilworth in the West Midlands Golf Croquet League fixture.
