East Dorset June Week Results

[<<] [>>] by Brian Fisk at East Dorset LT & CC
26 June 2010 (AC - Mixed)

This year the block stages of the doubles were played on the first day and the other events started on the
following day. This revised arrangement generally well received; visitors in particular liked the chance
to play on the courts before the singles events started as the courts were fairly fast.

The entry for the class was dominated by lower handicaps so we ended up with 10 in the A class and 6 in the
other two classes with the lowest handicap 8. All classes were therefore played level advanced. As the entry
was down on last year and the weather was generally brilliant we had time to play all class finals as best of
three on the final day. The doubles and X class finals were played on the penultimate day to avoid clashes.

Class Events

Class events were organised as American blocks followed by semi-finals and finals (all games were level advanced).
Because of a skewed set of handicaps the A class had 10 players whose handicaps ranged from 1 to -1.5. The B class
had 6 players handicaps 2 to 3 and the C class had 6 players handicaps 8 to 3.5.
