Nigel Polhill was the overnight leader, but Gabrielle Higgins beat him on Sunday morning. They were joined in a 3-way tie by Brian Kerr, belying his status as the highest handicapped player. As Brian had beaten Gabrielle who had beaten Nigel who had beaten Brian, the Mangler resolved to have a semifinal and final. Gabrielle won the shoot-out at the peg to gain the bye to the final. Nigel beat Brian with his 4th TP of the event. In the final Gabrielle alomst completed her third TP of the event, but came to grief at rover. Nigel was unable to take advantage, and Gabrielle deservedly won the Tompkinson Shield.
