James Hopgood won the Crake Valley Advanced Weekend

[<<] [>>] by Dave Nick at Leven and Crake Valley Croquet Club
17 August 2010 (AC)

S.C.A. Raider puts the English to the sword at Crake Valley!

James Hopgood won the Cavendish Clock, Beating Dave Nick in the final +26tp, +7. Yet again great weather in the Lake District. the lawns were quite benign, but tight hoops and challenging boundries kept the 15 players to their task. there were many magic moments from various players, jump shots, a missed 4 inch roquet and a flying (or should that be a flyding mallet)

Players and W.A.G s enjoyed the tournament dinner on the Saturday night at the Farmers Arms at Lowick. Certain players leaving the local bars at about 2am and playing better for it ( they know who they are) Many thanks to the Crake catering staff for their efforts and pleasant atmosphere throughout the weekend. No wonder the Management has to disappoint some entrants as the event becomes more popular
