Pendle & Craven beat Nottingham 4-3

An extremely tense finish in heavy rain conditions; after a day of generally good weather; resulted in a win for Pendle & Craven ; A golden hoop 1 point victory for Robin Delves against Sue Wileman, after a 3 1/2 hour battle , decided the match at 6.40 p.m.
Andrew Webb and David Pollitt had beaten Bob Thompson and Omied Hallam respectively ; in the afternoon singles ; David giving 3 bisques & Andrew 5 bisques and both played having been many hoops behind until the last few minutes of epic battles. Andrew won +6 David won +4

Ron Welch battled manfully in both the morning & afternoon singles but did not contribute to the score
