Nelson Morrow won the first Hurlingham Golf Croquet Tournament

Nelson Morrow won the first Hurlingham GC Tournament, eventually overcoming Dick Strover at 6pm on Sunday evening 4 -7, 7-4, 7-5 to win the event.

The first two days were a level event with 16 players from eight different clubs.

The tight hoops and fast conditions made for some interesting games.

The final eight finishing positions were:
1st Nelson Morrow ( Hurlingham)
2nd Dick Stover ( Colchester)
3= Simon Carter (Sydenham)
3= Don Beck ( Surbiton )
5th Tom Weston ( East Dorset)
6th Chris Sheen ( Colchester )
7= Freda Vitty ( Auckland )
7= Chris Roberts ( Phyllis Court )

Monday introduced a handicap Swiss event, with 22 players, some playing in their first open event. 17 year old rising Hurlingham star, Toby Toller, was the run away winner, winning all his games.

Winner: Toby Toller ( Hurlingham) 6/6
R/U: Marlene Davie ( Hurlingham) 5/6
