2 Sep 2010 (GC - Murphy Shield)

Broadwas beat Belsay Hall 7-0 in the semi-final of the GC Inter-Club Shield (Murphy Shield).

The visitors from Belsay Hall, Northumberland made the long trip down to Worcestershire to play Broadwas in the semi-final and were rewarded with a beautiful day and lovely views of the Malvern Hills. The match was covered by BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester who sent a reporter to the ground to do interviews and find out how our sport is played. We wait to see what croquet on the radio sounds like. It should be available to hear again on BBC iPlayer in due course.

Broadwas had home advantage and despite excellent play by the Belsay Hall players the final result was 7-0 to Broadwas. A lovely lunch and tea were enjoyed by players and spectators alike as new friendships were forged. We hope to meet up again and enjoy a more balanced game.
